Grand Bahama Island Snorkeling

Paradise cove was a great pick. Not only was the place clean, the owners were polite and professional, the staff is even more amazing. They make you feel comfortable and welcome.I did the snorkeling package. It came with a chair, a drink, and snorkeling gear. I Highly recommend this establishment over any other establishment in the Bahamas for a good adventure.

If you're visiting Grand Bahama, I highly recommend spending a few hours at Deadman’s Reef at Paradise Cove. We stayed at Viva Fortuna by Wyndham and took a taxi to the reef. We called Mr. Anthony Morrison at 242-646-5774, who provided our taxi service.One of the best ways to keep the cost reasonable is to bring your own mask, snorkel and fins. Paradise Cove allows guests to bring their own equipment and currently offers a discount for doing so.My wife and I spent about 5 hours there, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Taking a taxi instead of joining a tour meant we weren't rushed and could stay as long as we wanted. We snorkeled twice, with lunch in between, and had plenty of time to relax.The snorkeling was fantastic. We saw four sea turtles, including a baby turtle, puffer fish, octopuses, and lots of other marine life. The reef is accessible from the beach and is known for its abundance of tropical fish and sea turtles.There is also a restaurant/bar on site, so you can grab lunch and drinks between swims. The Red Bar serves food, beer and tropical drinks.Our biggest money-saving tip: skip the expensive tour if you don't need transportation and equipment included. Take a taxi, bring your own snorkeling gear, and pay for admission only. It was a very cost-effective way for us to enjoy Deadman’s Reef while spending most of the day there.If you like snorkeling and seeing marine life, Deadman’s Reef is well worth the trip! Mikey knows everything there is to know about the island and was very helpful in taking pictures, helping us snorkel and finding the sea life for us to interact with. Hida is the most wonderful guide! She took us snorkeling and all over the weather end and Lucas’s. She is knowledgeable, kind and makes the entire experience wonderful :) We would book with her again in a heartbeat, it is absolutely worth the money!!

We toured with Hida yesterday, and it was a fabulous experience! She is kind, thoughtful, flexible, and tremendously knowledgeable! She planned a detailed itinerary that left room for us to give feedback and make changes, if desired. We truly got the full flavor of the island in the few hours we were able to spend with her on our day in The Bahamas- a port on our cruise. I cannot recommend Hida highly enough-and swimming with the pigs was truly a highlight of our vacation. ❤️

The tour guide Hild went out of her way to custom tailor our trip to what WE wanted. We explained what we were most interested in, and also what we didn't care too much about. Worth every cent.

The bus with Paradise Cove on the side was easy to spot. Nelson picked us up right on time and pointed out things of interest and gave a little history on the way there. The beach was small but not crowded. Very comfortable beach lounges. We got our snorkel equipment while they set the lounges up for us. We had a great time snorkeling, a little swim out is a beautiful reef, full of big fish and little colorful fish. Closer to the shore was some fish, but we also saw turtles feeding on the grass. Other snorkelers said they saw an octopus and a stingray, but we missed those. On shore we bought lunch, hamburgers and fries, that were good. It also had an outside shower to rinse off, changing rooms and the bathroom. All the staff was friendly and helpful. If we are ever in Freeport again we would come back.

A splendid, well-equipped place, with very kind staff attentive to every need. A small bay that offers the enchantment of the ocean and its inhabitants. Wonderful experience!!!

We had a fantastic time on this excursion. The smaller group allowed us to have a more personalized experience, and Mikey was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, funny, and very friendly. I would definitely book again and recommend to others.

We had an absolutely perfect day on this trip! Our host was fantastic—knowledgeable, experienced, and so much fun to spend the day with. We loved seeing the turtles and exploring the island. Every stop was well planned and enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience!

We had a wonderful day on the island. Hida welcomed us with a self-baked Christmas Cake :-) While showing us the island, she told us a lot about the history, the people and nice places to visit. We went snorkling and visited the market and the Bahamian destillery. Thank you, Hida!

Hida was so nice! She did an excellent job communicating with me before our trip and ensured that we saw everything we could see in the time we had on the island. Snorkeling with the turtles, although a little rushed, was our favorite part! The only thing is there was a misunderstanding regarding tips. If you book this tour be sure to budget extra cash for tips!

We had a great day with Hida. Her car was clean and comfortable. The schedule was flexible and tailored to our interests. Hida took us swimming with the pigs which was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We also went snorkeling next door and saw a variety of fish and a few sea turtles. Hida was very knowledgeable of local sites, customs, and landmarks. We learned a lot about Grand Bahama that we never knew. Ended the day having a late lunch at Banana Bay restaurant. It’s situated on a beautiful beach / sand bar with crystal blue water.
